An immigrant is an individual who establishes his or her usual residence in the territory of a Nordic country for a period that is, or is expected to be, of at least 12 months, having previously been usually resident in another country.

Finland

Comprises persons who obtain a residence permit or a work permit for a period exceeding one year if a person wants to registrate himself in Finland.

Includes Ă…land.

Norway

Since 2008: Comprise individuals who establishes his or her usual residence in Norway for a period exceeding six months, having previously been usually resident in another country.

Sweden

Comprises persons who obtain a residence permit or a work permit for a period exceeding one year.

citizenship

The immigrant is a citizen of the next country of usual residence (the Nordic country).

Foreign citizenship

The immigrant is not a citizen of the next country of usual residence (the Nordic country).
