Source: Denmark, Finland, Norway and Sweden: Eurostat-data (LFS). LFS adopted a new methodology from 2021 onwards, leading to a break in time series for all countries in 2021. For more information, please see this article.

Iceland: Iceland Statistics.

Faroe Islands: Faroe Islands statistics (however 1990- 1994 data on the unemployment in the Faroe Islands are based on estimates published by the Danish Central Bank).

Greenland: Greenland Statistics. Prior to 2017: 18-64 years. 2017 and after: 18-65 years.

Åland: Åland Statistics. The unemployment figures in this matrix originate from The Åland Labor Market and Study Service Authority (AMS), which covers the unemployed population out of the labour force in the age span 15-74 years. Data from this authority are published monthly by Åland statistics and the yearly figures presented in this matrix are calculated as an average over the year. Figures for Åland differ from the unemployment rate presented in WORK02, which is based on register data by the end of each reference year. Note that the unemployment rate for Åland in WORK02 have a substantially longer production time (published about 22 months after the end of the reference year).
