Now you have come to the page, Choose variable. This page give you the oportunity to select which variables and values you want to display in your result of the table. A variable is a property of a statistical unit. The page is divided into several boxes, one for each variable, where you can select values by click to highlight one or more values. It always starts with the statistics variable which is the main value counted in the table.

This is a vision indicator selected by the Nordic Council of Ministers. It relates to the target Climate action under the area A green Nordic region. The indicator shows greenhouse gas emissions, in thousand tonnes of CO2 equivalents. The datasets presents modelling estimates of air emissions ‘embodied’ in products (goods and services) for final demand - also referred to as ‘footprints’. The estimates are the result of environmental input-output modelling and cover the entire world economy. The greenhouse gas emission footprint is a measure of emissions along the full production chain of a product that ends up in the country/region as final consumption or investment. These emissions are sometimes referred to as emissions ‘embodied’ in consumption, although they are not literally included in the final products, and these products are not only consumed, but may also be investment goods. Air emission footprints offer a complementary perspective to greenhouse gas inventories and air emissions accounts. The latter two record emissions on the production side, at the origin of the emissions. In contrast, air emission footprints are estimated from the perspective of the final product and where it is consumed, and are therefore also referred to as consumption-based accounts. In the table, the Nordic Region is comprised of the following countries: Denmark, Finland, Norway and Sweden. The Nordic value is the sum of the individual countries values. For more information on Our Vision 2030 and the indicators, please see this article. In December of 2025, sources were changed for Denmark and Sweden, and Finland and Norway was added to the matrix. The same source for all countries in the matrix allows for values to be compared in a better way as the same definitions have been used. For previous sources, see country specific footnotes below.
